چکیده

We compute the matrix elements of the operators which contribute to spectator effects in inclusive decays of B-mesons. The results agree well with estimates based on the vacuum saturation (factorization) hypothesis. For the ratio of lifetimes of charged and neutral mesons we find τ (B −)/τ (B d) = 1.03 ± 0.02 ± 0.03, where the first error represents the uncertainty in our evaluation of the matrix elements, and the second is an estimate of the uncertainty due to the fact that the Wilson coefficient functions have only been evaluated at tree-level in perturbation theory. This result is in agreement with the experimental measurement. We also discuss the implications of our results for the semileptonic branching ratio and the charm yield.

We present high-statistics results for neutral B-meson mixing and heavy-light-meson leptonic decays in the quenched approximation from tadpole-improved clover actions at β = 6.0 and β = 6.2. We consider quantities such as BBd(s) , fDd(s) , fBd(s) and the full ∆B = 2 matrix elements as well as the corresponding SU(3)-breaking ratios. These quantities are important for determining the CKM matrix ...

Lattice QCD determinations appropriate to hadron spectroscopy are reviewed with emphasis on the glueball and hybrid meson states in the quenched approximation. Hybrids are discussed for heavy and for light quarks. The effects of sea quarks (unquenching) are explored. Heavy-light systems are presented particularly excited B mesons.

Charm physics continues to pose difficulties for lattice QCD simulations. The systems are significantly relativistic [1,2] causing problems for the NRQCD approach, and have amQ ≃ O(1) causing significant discretisation effects in the heavy Wilson quark approach. We present the results of a simulation using the tadpole improved clover action and perform the analysis using the Fermilab [3] interp...

The heavy-quark expansion for inclusive semi-leptonic B decays introduces Λ̄ and λ1, which are matrix elements in heavy-quark effective field theory. We review how they can be obtained from an analysis of the heavy quark mass dependence of heavy-light meson masses in lattice QCD. We present preliminary results for the bottom quark mass, mb, using Λ̄ and λ1 for the Bs meson from a 2+1 sea-flavor u...
